Freeport LNG Development, L.P. is constructing a receiving terminal on Quintana Island, near Freeport, TX. This is the first Liquefied Natural Gas receiving terminal to be constructed in the United States in more than two decades.

The terminal will be capable of processing 1.5 bcf (billion cubic feet) of natural gas vaporization per day. ConocoPhillips has an agreement with Freeport LNG to manage the project and will receive 1 bcf per day of throughput capacity, while Dow Chemical Company will receive the remaining 500 million cubic feet per day. With the Phase I capacity sold, Freeport LNG is planning to construct Phase II, which could double the terminal's capacity.

Goodwin Safety Services, Inc. is under contract with Freeport LNG Development, L.P. to manage the safety and health issues while the terminal is under construction. Don Goodwin is Site Safety Manager for this project through its completion in 2008.
